Residence: Inherited 177 acres of the family's plantation in Patterson Creek, Virginia when father Nicholas Reasoner died. This is the land that was surveyed by George Washington in 1748.
Will: Jacob Reasoner's will is dated 26 September 1795 and was recorded 20 February 1797. Mentions the names of 3 sons and 3 daughters, but leaves out son Gideon Reasoner. Gideon may have died or may have already received his share of the estate when he left the area.
