(Research):Immigration about 1861? Settled in Hartland, Wisconsin, then moved to Groton, South Dakota

Last name Ferguson - Jörgensen - Bjorkenson - Bjerkenson

First name Peder

Last name was Bjorgensen. I have a picture of Peter and Anna Marie, at the bottom of the picture, it says H. Jensen, Gravenstein. I believe Gravenstein is in Germany. May be listed on Immigration Passenger List arriving in New York.

Ancestry website says that Peter was born in 1844, LDS says Peter was born 1Dec 1833. Ancestry has Anna born in 1848, LDS says she was born 9 May 1834. I am inclinded to believe Ancestry. It just makes more since.

Name gets misspelt a lot: in 1880 it's Ferguson: Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Peter FERGUSON Self M Male W 46 DEN Carpenter DEN DEN Anna M. In 1900 I believe they are in Brown, SD. listed as 'Forguson'. You could ask for the full info at recordlooups - this should give you info on emigration/naturalization. IGI shows him as d. 1903 also in South Dakota - either his obituary from SD or town history books for either Wisconsin or South Dakota might show up some info about him.
