Shared note | From the Life History of Grace DeVere Graham Poste: (These things happened when Walter was between 4 and 8-9 yrs. old.) "One time we were trying to drive the milk cow and she didn't want to go. I told Walter to run up behind her, like our dog Pickle did, and pinch her ankles. He did this and she kicked him all over the place. I went to bed without any supper that night. Another time Walter and I were out playing and it was hot and we were thirsty. I decided to milk the cow so Walter, Pickle and I could have something to drink. I told Walter to sit down behind her and wrap his arms and legs around the cows legs. The old cow let loose and kicked. I, Walter and Pickle all went flying. Again I went to bed without any supper." "I was always in trouble for trying to turn my brother, Walter, into a dog when we were around cattle." |
