Don had suffered a stroke in 2014, and has never fully recovered. He was born on April 30, 1939, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to parents Mildred Horning Graham and Walter Earle Graham. In 1949, his family moved from Howe, Idaho, to Claskinine, Oregon, where he graduated from high school, and went on to attend Oregon State University. In 1958, he joined the USAF, and through the AF obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University. He became an AF Communications Engineer and served one tour in Turkey and two tours in SE Asia. After a 20-year AF career, he retired in 1978. He and his wife Ruby established a home in Norman, where he had businesses in computer sales and services. In 1986, he became a Professor of Electronics and Data Processing at OKC Community College, and taught for 4 years. In 1990, he joined Seagate Technology, as Senior Manufacturing Engineer, retiring in 2001. Don was an avid bowler, and served many years as a YABA coach. He was also PTA president and active in youth soccer. He was a member of the Norman Moose Lodge where he and Ruby spent many happy years dancing together. He was a HAM Radio Operator and worked to develop and enhance the Emergency Services systems at Norman Regional Hospital and the Norman City Emergency Management Offices. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Lee, Jack, and Allan, and sister, Ann. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Karen Littlefield, of Norman; son, Denis Graham, of Norman; and step-son, Todd Eason, of Moore; grandchildren, Christina, Jessica, Michael, and David Graham, of Norman, Dawn and Jasmin Littlefield, of Norman, Parker and Luke Eason, of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Seyhan, Zoey, and Elle. Don was a wonderful husband, father, and stepfather. We will always remember him for his integrity, wonderful spirit, and his love of reading and knowledge. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 9. 2019 at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main St., Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK. |
